Gongbo'gyamda County

Gongbo'gyamda County, is a county of the Nyingtri Prefecture in the Tibet Autonomous Region, it means "great outlet of the valley" in Tibetan. Gongbo'gyamda County is located in the east of the Tibet Autonomous Region, to the south of the Nyainqentanglha Mountains, to the north of the Yarlung Zangbo River and in the area of the middle branches of the Nyang River. The county covers an area of 12,886 square kilometres. The average altitude of the county is 3,500 metres above sea level.

Nang County

Nang County is located in the southeast of the Tibet Autonomous Region and at the middle branches of the Yarlung Zangbo River. It has a population of 13,000. Nang County covers an area of 4,186 square kilometres. The physiognomy style of the area is basically altiplano and upland. The average altitude of the county is 3200 meters above sea level. Nyingchi County

Nyingchi means "throne of the sun" or "throne of the family" in Tibetan. Nyingchi County is located in the middle reaches of the Yarlung Zangbo River. Bome County

Bome means "ancestor" in Tibetan. The Bome Country lies in the neighboring area between Himalaya and Niangqing Tanggula of east Tibet. The rugged countryside is surrounded with peaks with a river valley in the heart. Bome County has a population of 260,000 and covers an area of 14,972 square kilometres. Medog County

Medog was formerly called Bema, and was referred to as "Boyu Bema" in classical Tibetan Buddhist scripts, which means "hidden lotus flower." It is regarded as a holy land by Buddhists. Zayu County

Zayu means "inhabitation" in Tibetan. Zayu County is located in the southeast of the Tibet Autonomous Region and east of the Nyingchi area. It is one of the frontier county of Nyingchi. With a population of 250,000, Zayu County covers an area of 31,659 square kilometres. The average altitude of the county is 2,300 metres above sea level. Zayu, like a water town only found in South China, Zayu is fertile place at the convergence of the Himalayas and Hengduan Mountains. It is crisscrossed by rivers and the weather is moderate throughout the year. There are rice, vegetables and fruit growing on terraces and plains.
